Abstract
The Sangam poets are individuals who embody noble qualities; they possess a broad-mindedness; they regard dignity as essential; they are pure-hearted souls with a spirit of service; they are respectful and well-spoken; they are without envy and uphold sacred virtues; they are virtuous people who recognize the greatness of friendship; they value honesty in poverty; they are knowledgeable individuals filled with fearlessness; they are ministers who advise the ruling king on righteousness. One can understand their greatness through the Purananuru.
