Abstract
Our ancestors, the Cheras, the Cholas, the Pandyas and the Pallavas ruled Tamil Nadu. If there is one thing common to all of them, it is the construction of a temple. It was customary for the kings to appoint men to maintain the temples built and to perform the poojas. From the beginning of the time of worship, the kings and the people on their behalf have been providing the Nivantas to meet the daily needs of the appointed persons and to meet the expenses of the temple. They were given land, cattle, goods, money, gold, silver and many other things. This article specifically seeks to examine whether there are any rules for the provision of livestock leave.
